A Resolution is an official legislative expression of the City Commission that effects an administrative issue; an expression of a temporary character or a provision for disposition.
The City’s resolutions date back to 1825. Legislative enactments transpired as a result of many of these documents that are now in place. Resolutions are enacted upon on an as needed basis and do not require publication with the exception if a resolution is enacting a municipal improvement, it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance with F.S. 166.041.
Resolutions may enact appropriations, transfers, temporary assignments, administrative provisions in nature that do not require publication or codification.
Resolutions shall be signed by City Commission persons voting (aye or nay).
All Resolutions shall be signed by the Mayor.
All Resolutions shall be signed and sealed by the City Clerk.
Resolutions become effective immediately upon the City Commission’s approval.
