Resolutions
- A Resolution is an official legislative expression of the City Commission that effects an administrative issue; an expression of a temporary character or a provision for disposition.
- The City’s resolutions date back to 1825. Legislative enactments transpired as a result of many of these documents that are now in place. Resolutions are enacted upon on an as needed basis and do not require publication with the exception if a resolution is enacting a municipal improvement, it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance with F.S. 166.041.
- Resolutions may enact appropriations, transfers, temporary assignments, administrative provisions in nature that do not require publication or codification.
- Resolutions shall be signed by City Commission persons voting (aye or nay).
- All Resolutions shall be signed by the Mayor.
- All Resolutions shall be signed and sealed by the City Clerk.
- Resolutions become effective immediately upon the City Commission’s approval.
