The City of Quincy is very proud of its environment and would like all residents and businesses to help us keep it that way.  To that effect we are asking all residents and businesses to maintain their premises by addressing the following (below).  Thanks for your cooperation and if you have any question contact the Building and Planning Department, Code Enforcement Section, 404 W. • Overgrown grass (grass and/or weed not exceeding 12”
• Accumulated junk, trash or debris
• Abandoned, discarded and unused automobile(s), furniture and appliances
• Non-registered vehicles
• Unsanitary conditions
• Dangerous buildings
• Dead trees
• Blowing yard debris into the street
• Cutting grass into the street
• Trash Receptacles obstructing sidewalks and right-of-way

CODE COMPLIANCE NOTICE:
LAWN CARE

This is a courtesy notice to lawn care companies and homeowners.  We have observed that a lot of grass is left on the street after yard and premises have been cut.  The City would like to take this opportunity to advise lawn care companies and homeowners to avoid cutting grass into the street.  If due to design and other reasons, grass must be cut into the street, please ensure to blow it out or sweep the street after the lawn care is completed.  Failure to do this shall result in citation pursuant to the City’s Code of Ordinances (Chapter 62.6).  We appreciate your cooperation and if you have any question contact the Building and Planning Department, Code Enforcement Section, at 404 W. CODE COMPLIANCE NOTICE:
QUINCY HISTORIC DISTRICT

The City of Quincy has a significant historic district as shown in the map below.  Many of properties in this district have earned national recognition and are included on the national register of historic places.  The district is a tourist attraction and source of pride to the City.  It is very important that the historic character of this area be maintained for posterity. In view of that, the City is asking property owners, residents and tenants in this area to consult with the City’s Building and Planning Department prior to doing any work on a property located in the historic district.  Also, when a property is changing hand or being rented the property owner has to apprise the new tenant or buyer of the buildings location within the Historic District and the importance of ensuring that the historic characteristics of the building are not compromised.  Thanks for your cooperation and if you have any question contact the Building and Planning Department, 404 W.
